As a member of a Search and Rescue team, you will be called on to be able to navigate in the wilds of New York. Navigating in the wilderness can be challenging. We continually train to improve our map and compass as well as GPS skills.
We teach others to use Topographic Maps and USGS maps navigate with a compass during the day and at night. If you want to learn to be comfortable in the woods, we can help you with this. After getting started with us, you will be able to find your way in the woods, then you can learn to read the dogs and navigate for your dog handler. We will also help you be safe in the woods and learn how to survive on your own with only the pack on your back.
We specialize in wilderness K9 search and rescue. Our team is a member of the New York State Federation of Search and Rescue Teams. We train our K9s in air scenting for both live and human remains.
